The religious sects other than the Church of England have also maintained records since their formation. These include Protestant denominations such as Methodists, Independents, Baptists and Presbyterians. There are also extensive records for Catholics, Quakers and Jews. Such records are either held locally or are deposited in the specialist record office maintained by that sect. Many such records were deposited in 1840 and are now available on-line.
